Rolatube Deployable Mast Systems at InnoTrans 2026

InnoTrans is the world’s largest trade fair for transport technology, covering railway infrastructure, rolling stock, passenger transport, and the systems that support them. The event brings together rail operators, infrastructure managers, and transport technology providers from around the world.

Portable, Lightweight Mast Systems for Rail Infrastructure

Rail maintenance, inspection, and construction demand equipment that can reach trackside locations without heavy vehicles, and set up quickly without disrupting operations. Rolatube’s deployable mast systems are built for exactly this kind of environment. They pack down to a compact size for easy transport and deploy into rigid, load-bearing structures on site.

Built using patented Bi-stable Reeled Composite (BRC) technology, the systems are a fraction of the weight of traditional mast alternatives. A 7-metre single tube mast weighs just 8kg, and the complete system can be carried by a single engineer along track corridors and into locations with limited vehicle access. Mast systems from 2 metres to 10 metres support communications equipment, monitoring sensors, temporary lighting, and inspection cameras for trackside and construction applications.

Material choice also matters in rail environments. The composite mast tube itself is electrically non-conductive, a relevant consideration where overhead line equipment is present, although suitability for any trackside location should always be assessed against the site’s safety requirements and the complete system configuration. With no moving parts in the tube structure, the systems are virtually maintenance-free and perform across a temperature range of -31 degrees C to +49 degrees C and in winds of up to 100kph, making them well suited to year-round rail operations in exposed conditions.
